Chery Australia is celebrating double success at the 2026 CarExpert awards

Chery Australia is celebrating double success at the 2026 CarExpert awards, after the Tiggo 4 was named Best Affordable Small SUV for the second consecutive year, while the brand’s upcoming KP31 ute secured recognition for Best Design.
The dual accolades reinforce Chery’s growing momentum in the Australian market, highlighting the brand’s commitment to delivering outstanding value, advanced technology and contemporary design for local customers.
CarExpert commented “With Australians battling cost-of-living pressures, the Chery Tiggo 4 is a mighty tempting offering with a long list of standard equipment including plenty of safety technology, as well as a punchy turbocharged engine and a seven-year warranty – all for under $24,000 drive-away. Those seeking lower fuel bills can also step up to the available hybrid”
One of the most hotly contested segments in the new-car market, the Tiggo 4 manages to deliver unparalleled value for money and has been warmly embraced by Australian consumers as the highest selling SUV to date in 2026.
Lucas Harris, Chief Operating Officer, Chery Australia said the award was a strong endorsement of the brand’s customer-focused approach.
“The Tiggo 4 has quickly established itself as one of the standout value offerings in the Australian market, delivering the features, technology and safety customers expect at an accessible price point,”
“To receive recognition as Best Affordable Small SUV is a fantastic achievement and reflects the confidence Australian customers are placing in the Chery brand.”
Adding to the celebrations, Chery’s upcoming ute concept was recognised with the Best Design award, highlighting the vehicle’s bold styling direction and modern interpretation of the dual-cab segment.
“The Australian ute market is one of the most competitive in the world, so to receive recognition for design ahead of launch is incredibly encouraging,” said Harris.
“Our new ute has been designed to challenge expectations in the segment, blending capability with a distinctive and modern design language that we believe will strongly resonate with Australian customers.”
The awards come as Chery continues to expand its local lineup and strengthen its presence across Australia where it now sits amongst the Top 10 auto brands.
Further details on Chery’s upcoming ute will be announced closer to its Australian launch.
