Smart announces novated leasing partnership with Chery
Smart, Australia’s leading salary packaging and novated leasing provider, has announced a new partnership with Chery

Smart, Australia’s leading salary packaging and novated leasing provider, has announced a new partnership with Chery that will make novated leasing available at 91 dealerships across the country.
The partnership enables dealer staff to quote customers directly on novated leasing at the point of sale.
Smart Group Executive, Novated Leasing and Electric Vehicle Services, Sid Jha said the partnership reflected growing demand from Australian car buyers for simpler ways to access novated leasing.
“More Australians are discovering that novated leasing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the cost of a new car,” Mr Jha said.
“Partnering with Chery means eligible employees can now explore novated leasing while they’re shopping for their next Chery vehicle.”
Lucas Harris, Chief Operating Officer, Chery Australia, commented “This partnership allows us to place more customers behind the wheel of our vehicles while supporting fleet and salary packaging customers with competitive ownership solutions, strong whole-of-life value and access to the latest technology and safety features.”
The Chery E5 EV is eligible for the Australian Government’s Electric Car Discount, which exempts qualifying electric vehicles from Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). This can save eligible employees thousands of dollars annually when packaging an EV through their employer.
Smart currently manages more than 85,300 novated leases across Australia and serves over 580,000 customers through more than 3,300 employer clients in government, healthcare, education, corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
Chery dealerships will begin offering the “Chery Novated Lease powered by Smart” product in the coming weeks.
